Champions League: PSG set for Chelsea rematch, Real Madrid face Manchester City showdown

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were handed a blockbuster tie against Chelsea in Friday’s Champions League Round of 16 draw. The draw offers PSG a measure of revenge, months after the Parisians fell to the London side in the 2025 Club World Cup final. Elsewhere, a heavyweight showdown awaits as Real Madrid take on Manchester City.

The Europa League Round of 16 draw also took place on Friday. Lille will face Premier League high-flyers Aston Villa while Lyon, who topped the league phase, will meet Celta Vigo.

In Ligue 1, RC Lens missed the chance to go top after being held to a 1-1 draw in Strasbourg in Friday night’s Matchday 24 opener.

In the Premier League, Aston Villa dropped valuable points after a 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton, who secured just their second win of the season. Manchester United can leapfrog them into the top three with a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
