France takes home biathlon and ski mountaineering golds on penultimate day of Olympics

The French delegation had another day to remember at the Winter Olympics on Saturday, with Océane Michelon clinching gold in the final biathlon race while Emily Harrop and Thibault Anselmet won the first-ever ski mountaineering mixed relay.

Johannes Klæbo made history by winning his sixth Olympic title in as many cross-country race, taking Norway’s tally to 18 golds ahead of Sunday’s closing ceremony. 

Lens were knocked off top spot in Ligue 1 on Saturday after a home defeat to Monaco, with Paris Saint-Germain taking full of advantage of their slip-up by beating bottom-placed Metz later in the evening.

Carlos Alcaraz was on top form again as he wrapped up his Qatar Open final against France’s Arthur Fils in under an hour, claiming silverware again in his first tournament since the Australian Open.
