Achraf Hakimi to return to action in Morocco’s final group stage match

Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi is set to return to action for his team’s final group stage match against Zambia, having recovered from an ankle injury that sidelined him for nearly two months.

The Atlas Lions will look to seal the top spot in Group A, while Zambia, Mali, and Comoros are all in the running for a last 16 place. 

Ivory Coast, the reigning champions, were held to a draw by Cameroon in Group F’s headline fixture, while Mozambique ended their 39-year wait for an AFCON win against Gabon.

Algeria clinched their spot in the knockouts with slender win against Burkina Faso, as Riyad Mahrez converted a first-half penalty to take his tally to a tournament-leading three goals.

In the controversial “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition match between Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka, it’s the Australian who claimed a two-sets win after a low-intensity affair in Dubai.
