Milano-Cortina Olympics: France’s Miradoli takes Super-G silver

Romane Miradoli won silver in the Super-G at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. At 31, the French skier claimed her first Olympic medal – the first for a French woman in Alpine skiing in 24 years. She was beaten by Italy’s Federica Brignone, who triumphed just 10 months after suffering a serious left leg injury.

France’s Aidan Chollet endured heartbreak in snowboard cross, finishing fourth after leading the final until the last turn, where he was overtaken by all three rivals. 

The French men’s hockey team lost 4-0 to Switzerland in their opening game of the Olympic tournament.

Léonie Perry, 21, met her target with a 10th-place finish in the women’s 10km individual cross-country race.

In Premier League, leaders Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Brentford, allowing Manchester City to close within four points.
