Djokovic rolls back the years to beat Sinner in Melbourne semi-final

Novak Djokovic came back from behind to qualify for his 11th Australian Open final on Friday, taking down reigning champion Jannik Sinner in a five-set epic.

The ten-time Melbourne champion will take on Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday’s final. The Spaniard outlasted Alexander Zverev in the earlier semi-final, eventually coming out on top after a gruelling five-and-a-half hour match in which he struggled with cramps.

Friday’s draw for the Champions League play-offs handed Paris Saint-Germain a familiar foe, as the holders were paired with league rivals Monaco for the February double-header. The winner of the all-Ligue 1 tie will face either Chelsea or Barcelona in the last 16.

Marseille will look to bounce back from their dramatic Champions League exit as they take on Paris FC in Ligue 1 on Saturday. In the matchday opener on Friday night, Lens provisionally reclaimed top spot from Paris Saint-Germain with a slender win over Le Havre.
