Les Bleus to play 2026 World Cup matches on East Coast

A day on from the 2026 World Cup group stage draw in Washington, FIFA unveiled the full match schedule for next year’s tournament on Saturday. France will kick off their campaign against Senegal in New York, before travelling to face a play-off winner in Philadelphia and then rounding off their group campaign in Boston against Norway.

Paris Saint-Germain returned to winning ways with a 5-0 thrashing of Rennes, although Lens retained top spot after leaving it late to beat Nantes. Back across the pond, Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to their first MLS title by setting up two of the team’s three goals in the final against Vancouver Whitecaps.

A three-way fight for the Formula 1 World Championship title is set to go down to the wire, as defending champion Max Verstappen claimed pole for the final Grand Prix of the season. Ahead of Sunday’s race, the Dutchman is 12 points adrift of championship leader Lando Norris, while the latter’s McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri is also in contention.
