Italian SimpL raises €1.2M to power B2B sales with AI

SimpL uses public data, a proprietary knowledge graph and deep learning to help B2B sales teams identify who to contact, when to reach out and how to turn interactions into qualified meetings.

Italian startup SimpL has raised €1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round to develop its AI-powered operating system for generating B2B sales opportunities. The round was led by Techshop Capital, with participation from Vento Ventures and several business angels.

Founded by Nicolò Fugallo, Raffaele Scarano and Luca Marco Agnoli, SimpL is developing a system designed to help sales teams determine which companies and decision-makers to contact, when to approach them and how to engage them.

The startup is targeting a common challenge in B2B sales: companies may have a suitable product for a potential customer but miss the opportunity by reaching out too early or after the customer has already selected a supplier.

SimpL collects and analyses public data, including job postings, company pages and news, using proprietary technology without purchasing data from external providers. The information is organised into a proprietary knowledge graph connecting companies, people and interactions, and analysed using deep learning models to estimate which decision-makers are most likely to respond, when they should be contacted and which approach to use.

The operating system connects with tools companies already use, including email, CRM and calendars, and learns about their products, customers and sales strategies. It can initiate contact and manage conversations through to a meeting, determining each step based on the recipient’s response rather than relying on predefined message sequences. Both positive and negative outcomes are used to inform subsequent interactions.

Nicolò Fugallo, CEO and co-founder of SimpL, said that while many B2B sales tools focus on increasing the volume of activities, lists, messages and automations, SimpL takes a different approach by identifying which companies are worth targeting, when to contact them and what message to use:

SimpL uses public signals, a proprietary knowledge graph and predictive models to turn this information into qualified meetings. The difference is that we are not selling another piece of software to add to the sales tools companies already use, but an integrated process that learns from every interaction and is paid only on success.

Explaining how the technology works, Raffaele Scarano, CTO and co-founder of SimpL, said the accuracy of its predictions depends on identifying specific signals that can reveal commercial opportunities, noting that even a change in the language used in a job posting can sometimes be more relevant than a highly visible piece of news.

The challenge is not collecting signals, but understanding which ones actually improve the prediction and which ones are just noise. That is why the system learns from every response, including negative ones,

he said.

Rather than charging per-user subscriptions or upfront fees, SimpL operates on a results-based model, with clients paying only for qualified meetings that take place. The company says this approach is designed to replace separate subscriptions for sales data, outreach tools and automations with a single service.

SimpL operates from Milan, where it has opened SimpL House, a space inspired by the hacker house model that brings research, product and business development together. The initiative is intended to attract talent and keep technology development closely connected with customers and the market.

The company will use the new funding for product development, strengthening its technology and growing its team.
